DARWAZA (1978)

Darwaza (translation: “Door”) is a 1978 Bollywood Hindi Indian supernatural horror film directed by the Ramsay Brothers, Shyam Ramsay and Tulsi Ramsay (Tahkhana), from a screenplay by Kumar Ramsay.


The film stars Anil Dhawan, Imtiaz Khan, Anju Mahendru, Shakti Kapoor, Sheetal, Krishan Dhawan, Trilook Kapoor, Kumud Tripathi and Appi Umrani.


For generations, a family lives in their haveli (manor) in fear of a dark and terrible curse. Adolescent Suraj is sent away to Bombay (Mumbai) so that he is not afflicted by the curse. Suffering raging insomnia, he returns to family home to face up to the horror that seemingly awaits him. Meanwhile, a werewolf-like creature is on the prowl…
