Alien: Reign of Man (2017) overview

‘To save our world they must destroy theirs’

Alien: Reign of Man is a 2017 American science fiction horror film directed by Justin Price (Forsaken; Dark Moon Rising; The Cloth). Deanna Grace Congo, Torrei Hart (But Deliver Us from Evil), Khu (The 13th Friday; Dark Moon Rising; The Cloth), and Cameron White star.

Stranded on a distant planet, a desperate team must fight aliens and activate a machine meant to restore Earth to a time before its downfall…

AlienReign of Man really makes no sense. The director was obviously in love with his “vision”, as he called it, at the expense of telling an interesting story; he allowed cheap cosplay costumes, frequently mediocre CGI, interminable wanderings through a barren landscape, and long scenes of smouldering stares to get in the way of something to say. Along with horror comedy, this is another casualty of overreaching low-budget filmmakers: transcendental storytelling.

The film was released on VOD on August 1, 2017, and DVD November 14, 2017.

  1. This movie has had me captivated for months. I fucking love this flick! Most folks want to put their heads into neutral and keep just enough oxygen flow to their brains so they will laugh or scream on cue. If they have to think about anything for longer then a second their oxygen is depleted and, being good droids, immediately give it a thumbs down for nonsense.

I totally get this movie. Its about the transition between the ages of man, and having run his course of power, must restart the cycle if he is to continue. In this case, between Pisces and Aquarius. The ending is the beginning referred to in Gospel of Thomas 18. But to see this vision, correct arcane knowledge is required. There is no doubt here that Justin Price is an absolute genius and a very old soul indeed!
