‘This year everyone will be eggsecuted!’

Easter Sunday is a 2014 American horror feature film written and directed by Jeremy Todd Morehead and produced by Jason Delgado. The movie stars Robert Z’Dar (Maniac Cop; Syngenor; Evil Altar) and Ari Lehman (Rock Paper Dead; The Barn; Friday the 13th).

Plot

It’s been twenty-four years since the serial killer Douglas Fisher was executed on Easter night. This year, a group partying teenagers not only raise some hell but literally raise the dead…

Reviews:

“There’s a lot of over acting here, but much of it is done intentionally as a sort of satire it seems and it really entertains. Also, of note, I really enjoy the voice work for Douglas Fisher. The killer really has a very original style in both physical and vocal acting and is probably one of my favorites I have seen in an indie slasher.” The Blood Shed

“Packed to the punch with silly one liners and a fantastic score, this indie horror-comedy will absolutely take you on a trip back somewhere in the late eighties. Future viewers should take note of a particularly “skilled” fight scene, so well choreographed, to even include faux lightning!” Frightmares on Celluloid

“Extremely jokey and self-aware right from the opening scene, this is the kind of homemade project that will either have you chuckling or groaning right away […] The film offers a mixture of effective old-school gore effects and, unfortunately, a few too many CGI kills.” Mondo Digital

“Considering that it was made on a shoestring ($10,000), Easter Sunday looks pretty good, with some sharp elements of style and impressive camera work. The film could have used a some more judicious editing as it does tend to tire before the final act, but ultimately, there’s enough heart, humor and grisly, gory kills within to warrant a viewing.” Really Awful Movies

“Well-paced and smart enough not to overstay its welcome, Easter Sunday is worth checking out for fans of quirky, goofy, low budget slasher films.” Rock! Shock! Pop!

” …if you like horror with Porky’s humour, you’ll thoroughly enjoy this film. It’s fast moving, gory and fun with moments that are truly commendable. For me though it felt like an express train that kept getting caught in engineering works. ” A Slash Above…
