Reviews:

I Am Vengeance: Retaliation is a superior sequel with Stu Bennett proving he has what it takes to be a new action hero but the rest of the cast are impressive too. It’s only 82 minutes long so it’s got rapid-fire dialogue and action that doesn’t let up until the end credits.” The Action Elite

The first one involved drugs and brutal killings. This time it feels more like an all-around actioner. to make a comparison in story terms etc its like the tone shift from The Expendables to The Expendables 2. Not as serious but the action is packed and amped, locked and loaded! Such a fun movie.” Action Reloaded

“Sometimes you don’t have to watch the first movie to enjoy a sequel. I Am Vengeance is a fun action movie, but the sequel, I Am Vengeance: Retaliation takes it up 100 notches.” Bulletproof Action

“Outside of the action sequences, however, there’s not much to recommend in I Am Vengeance: Retaliation. Without an interesting plot or characters to emotionally invest in, the movie is unlikely to draw in anyone other than hard-core action buffs.” CBR.com

” …the film overall had more of an offbeat feel, which I think made for a fun movie in a different way than how the previous one was fun. Just the same, we still had a solid action quotient, with some really good fight scenes. This movie definitely delivers and keeps the train moving from the first one.” Direct to Video Connoisseur

“There’s so many fight scenes it starts to feel somewhat repetitive and Boyask isn’t able to elevate the stakes from one fight to the next so it’s more a matter of changing locations instead of significance. The script is underwhelming, which might explain the performers inability to do much with it.” Lyles Movie Files

” …you could do a lot worse than I Am Vengeance: Retaliation. The previous film doesn’t need to have been seen to understand why Gold is beating everybody up. And there are some great showdowns between Bennett and Jones as these two hulking bruisers trade barbs and fists in equal measure.” Punch Drunk Critics

” …the makers of Retaliation set most of their movie in and around a deserted industrial building setting, so that the virtually nonstop shootouts and fight scenes that fill the void where a plot should be are as visually monotonous as they are numbingly repetitious.” Variety

“There’s certainly plenty of action, I Am Vengeance: Retaliation delivers the goods there. The problem is the script. Writer/director Ross Boyask fills the film with elite fighters with all the aiming skills of an Imperial Stormtrooper. People have the drop on someone. But wait for them to notice, and escape a hail of poorly aimed bullets, rather than just kill them.” Voices from the Balcony
