The Dark and The Wicked is a 2020 American horror feature film about two siblings who return to the family farm to attend their father’s imminent death. What initially appears to be a timeless ritual of loss and remembrance turns out to be something very different.

Written, produced and directed by Bryan Bertino (director of The Monster; Mockingbird; The Strangers; co-producer of He’s Out There; Stephanie and The Blackcoat’s Daughter), the movie stars Marin Ireland, Michael Abbott Jr., Xander Berkeley (Terminator 2: Judgement Day) and Lynn Andrews. The producers include Bryan Bertino, Adrienne Biddle, Sonny Mallhi and Kevin Matusow.

On a secluded farm in a nondescript rural town, a man is slowly dying. His family gathers to mourn, and soon darkness grows, marked by waking nightmares and a growing sense that something evil is taking over the family…

The Dark and The Wicked was due to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival until the lockdown happened. A release date has yet to be announced.
