Reviews [click links to read more]:

“There may be elements of a NZ version of Pineapple Express and every other inept criminal story you’ve ever seen, but thanks to the use of small locations, a tight script, and injection of energy and charm, this gun-toting screwball caper is a relative cinematic local diamond in among a recent collection of celluloid rough.” Darren’s World of Entertainment

“Rolleston is not just a likeable presence; he seems to bend the tone of the entire film in his lowkey direction, giving it a hard-to-hate sincerity even when it is vulgar. Helped along by those well-worn Ritchie and Tarantino-isms, which allow a degree of playfulness, Lowdown Dirty Criminals has a synchronicity between the lead character and the very form and content of the film.” The Guardian

” …while there is a lot about the film that works, unfortunately on balance, there is a lot that didn’t. The biggest problem is the tone. This film wants to situate itself in that MA/R comedy space where you gross out your audience from start to finish. In some respects, they succeeded, because it has been a long time since I have had to turn away from the screen…” TL;DR Reviews
