KNUCKLEDUST (2020) Reviews and worth watching

‘The brawl to end it all’

Knuckledust is a 2020 satirical action-thriller film about a massacre in an underground fight club with just one main suspect.

Directed by the James Kermack (Hi-Lo Joe), the British-French co-production stars Moe Dunford, Olivier Richters, Kate Dickie, Jaime Winstone and Camille Rowe.

Plot:

When a special police task force kicks open the doors of elite underground fight den – Club Knuckledust, they find seven levels of hell, filled with the dead bodies of countless fighters, assassins and goons. Only one man, beaten to a pulp, barely breathing, is still alive: Hard Eight.

With a shady Government official en route to take him away, Chief Inspector Katherine Keaton and her team have ninety minutes to interrogate Hard Eight to find out if is the lone survivor or a multiple murderer.

With lies flying from everyone’s mouths and corruption becoming apparent, Keaton starts to wonder “Who is the real criminal?

Reviews:

“From the first frame to the last, this movie knows itself and in turn knows the audience that is going to take to it. I loved just about everything they threw at us with intelligent one-liners and a complex script with a well-told narrative. Bursts of neon, splatterings of blood, flashes of guns and even inserting some animation in there to further conjure up that Graphic Novel Comic Booky feel. I can’t recommend this movie enough…” 365 Flicks Podcast

“If Kermack decided to lean a little more towards the likes of John Wick and The Raid and upped the ante on the action, and a little less on the gangster, multiple character-themed plot, we would have enjoyed this a lot more than we did. Knuckledust is worth catching…” All Things Movies UK

“In place of muscular action, Knuckledust features a bloated ensemble of characters all suffering from verbal diarrhoea. There are some talented actors at work here, but even the likes of Dunford and Dickie can’t liven up this poorly paced snoozer. If you’re expecting a slugfest, you’ll be surprised to find a movie that’s simply sluggish.” The Movie Waffler

“I loved just about everything they threw at us – intelligent one-liners and a complex script with a well-told narrative. Bursts of neon, splatterings of blood, flashes of guns and even inserting some animation in there to further conjure up that graphic novel, comic book, feel. I can’t recommend Knuckledust enough.” Nerdly

Blurb:

Writer and director James Kermack commented: “Knuckledust is set in a hyper-stylized version of the world we live in, fusing neon dreams with bone-breaking claret soaked fights, a graphic novel come to life. We have a brilliant international cast and I’m so excited to finally share this wild universe with the world.”
