Blackstock Boneyard is a 2021 American horror film about two wrongly executed black farmers who return from the dead to avenge themselves.
Directed by Andre Alfa from a screenplay written by Stephen George, the Works Entertainment Group-Monalena Pictures co-production stars Ashley Whelan, Aspen Kennedy, Aubree Storm, Bryan McClure and Richie Stephens.
Plot:
In South Carolina, in 1913, brothers Thomas and Meeks Griffin were forced to sell their land after being framed by town leaders for a murder they didn’t commit.
One hundred years later, the brothers return from the grave to avenge their deaths and stop the town descendants from profiting off the land that was rightfully theirs…
Reviews:
“The film really tries to hit so many other hot button topics like police brutality and workplace harassment, but it already has a great story to be inspired by. That said, for the state of horror in 2021, this is pretty interesting and worth checking out.” B&S About Movies
“The film’s lower budget doesn’t do it any favours when it comes to the blood-spattered CGI (although there’s a fun through-the-body shot that almost makes up for it with its audacity). If you can overlook that, there’s plenty of atmosphere and the nastiness of the characters will have you rooting for them to be on the death list.” Starburst
“I’m all for a bit of social commentary in genre films, but not to the point they take the film over. In the last half hour, Blackstock Boneyard does manage a few good scenes, and some bad CGI, as revenge is meted out. There are a couple of moments that don’t make sense but, as with Death Ranch, it’s always fun to see some klansmen meet a bloody end.” Voices from the Balcony
” …Dean Wilson and David Jite do a pretty good job in their roles of the supernatural killers. If there is a flaw in the film, it is the visual effects to match the more practical effects seem a bit subpar. However, considering the budget for the film, it is a bit forgivable.” World Film Geek
