Reviews:
“This wouldn’t be an Amityville movie without ten minutes at the end of videos sent in by people who paid to be in the movie, as well as news footage that pads out the running time. There’s also lots of ad-libbed dialogue, people talking on and on when they never would in real life and so much screaming. Yet it looks a lot better than most Amityville or Bigfoot movies, so I guess that’s some faint praise.” B&S About Movies
” …while there are brief glimmers of comedy that work and some of the deaths are surprisingly effective, these tolerable moments are few and far between. The end result is a long, boring slog of a film; Phillips isn’t just phoning this in, Amityville Bigfoot plays like a filmmaker that doesn’t even care anymore. And it shows.” ½ Bloody Disgusting

“One of the better entries in the Amityville slop pile, mainly because it packs in a ton of activity at a brisk pace, and provides a substantial amount of crude and violent moments. Not exactly fine cinema, but a cheap means to provide minimal fun.” 2 out of 4, Splatter Critic
“Effects are, as you might guess, pretty much non-existent, and despite the script being obsessed with sex, everyone stays fully dressed at all times […] I was hoping Amityville Bigfoot would be as much fun as Woods Witch, also from Phillips and Prescott. Instead, it turned out to be along the lines of another of their collaborations, Amityville Karen, and one of the worst things I’ve seen this year.” ★ Voices from the Balcony
Background:
Director Shawn C. Phillips explains: “I know there are a lot of Bigfoot movies out there. Even one of the first films I ever acted in was a Bigfoot film called Assault of the Sasquatch.
With this film, I really wanted to make something so different and totally not what you would expect out of a Bigfoot film. I do think we managed to make something really special with this one. I think it’s gonna be a really fun escape for people for 90 minutes”
