The film is unofficial remake of Assault on Precinct 13 as a group of cops and criminals are forced to band together to fend of an “assault” on a police station. The twist is that instead of a merciless gang their foe is an angry sasquatch.

When Terry Drake, a merciless bear poacher, is caught and arrested deep in the woods of a state park, he and his truck are taken to a neglected precinct in the heart of a dying city. Unbeknownst to the authorities, the impounded truck holds a deadly cargo in the form of the legendary Sasquatch. Now, stuck in an unfamiliar world, the creature will let nothing and no one stop it from coming face-to-face with the unscrupulous man who ruthlessly ripped it from its environment…

Reviews:assault sasquatch

” … it’s not a great movie, not good even, but in the horror world there are hundreds of films I’ve picked up and shook my head at, just wishing they were at the level of quality Assault of the Sasquatch brings. It’s just unfortunate that the plot never played out with a poker face; jumping back and forth from horror to exploitation to comedy is difficult to execute and drama proved to be its most impressive trait.” Oh, the Horror!

“One moment Bigfoot behaves sympathetically like Harry & the Hendersons or humorously uses his might to heroically save a prostitute from a violent pimp; the next it’s running off with the cop’s terrified daughter while the helpless father screams in horror to set up a scene that might have you wondering if the movie was going to turn into Sexual Assault of the Sasquatch.” Dread Central

“Even more thrilling – the kills in this movie are actually kind of awesome. I’ve been conditioned to expect the worst from these things, but they put the effort in here, with Sasquatch hands going through human heads, lots of general evisceration, etc. But my favorite has to be the guy who just gets pummeled by random objects – Bigfoot throws chunks of cement, a tire, even a goddamn mailbox at this poor bastard.” Horror Movie a Day

“Despite some overly gory scenes, Assault of the Sasquatch was not meant to be taken seriously, and it offers many opportunities to laugh. It’s bad and it’s silly which translates to a movie to watch with some friends, some beer, and a lot of popcorn (half of which will be thrown at the screen).” Technorati

Choice dialogue:

Drake: “You’d better believe that if your piss off the sasquatch, you’re f*cked!”
