‘A new class of gangster’
The Bezonians is a 2021 British satirical crime thriller film focusing on a group of down and outs in a North London social club. The regulars scheme, plot and dream of becoming rich and breaking out of the monotony of their dreary and financially impotent lives.

Written and directed by Savvas D. Michael (The Phantom Warrior; The Abomination; Original Gangster; Righteous Villains; Red Devil; Smoking Guns).

The Saint & Savages production stars Vinnie Jones (I Am Vengeance: Retaliation; Blood Trap; The Midnight Meat Train; Snatch; Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Marina Sirtis, Lois Brabin-Platt, Savvas D. Michael and Andreas Karras.

Plot:
Plato (Andreas Karras) runs the Bezonians Social Club in North London, where generations of Greek immigrants have gambled away their savings and partied over the decades.

When Plato makes the mistake of playing poker with devious bombshell Lola (Lois Brabin-Platt), the fate of the club—as well as his very life—is threatened.

Only the suave Achilles (Savvas D. Michael), bruiser Costas (Peter Polycarpou), hardhead Buster (Nicky B), wily Mike (Chris Tummings) and sweet Anthony (Jamie Crew) will stand by Plato as he faces an intimidating threat from Lola’s boyfriend—the consciousness Willard Greb (Vinnie Jones)…

Reviews:
“It tells the audience who the characters are and meanders for half of the runtime before the plot finally decides to start. But when the players are this interesting and so well performed, who cares? When the directing is so stylish and the editing so flawless, who cares? Michael’s film works because everyone involved cared enough to make it as good as it could ever possibly be.” 8.5/10 Film Threat

“Although a large number of criminal activities take place, the film also explores other aspects of life, including the values of family and friendship and the importance of sticking together and supporting each other and overcoming obstacles […] The characters are intriguing and the screenplay will probably grab the viewer’s attention.” UK Film Review

“If you go into The Bezonians knowing that it’s going to be a character study with some thrills and violence thrown in rather than a typical gangster film there’s a good chance that you’ll enjoy it. Just don’t take the poster at face value and be prepared for an ending that’s a lot stronger than it has a right to be.” 3.5/5 Voices from the Balcony
