The Bad Seed Returns is a 2022 American psycho-thriller film about a teenage girl who murders anyone she feels threatened by; it is a sequel to The Bad Seed (2018).

Directed by Louise Archambault (Merci pour tout; And the Birds Rained Down) from a screenplay co-written by Ross Burge, Mckenna Grace and Barbara Marshall based on a play by Maxwell Anderson and a novel by William March. Produced by Charles Cooper.

The movie stars Mckenna Grace (Scoob!: Holiday Haunt; Ghostbusters: Afterlife; Malignant; Annabelle Comes Home), Rob Lowe (Monster Trucks), Michelle Morgan, Patty McCormack, Benjamin Ayres and Alexander Molony.

Plot:
After the murderous events that left her father (Rob Lowe) dead, fifteen-year-old Emma (Mckenna Grace), a seemingly typical teenage girl, is now living with aunt Angela (Michelle Morgan) and navigating high school.

However, the darkness can only be hidden for so long, especially when Angela’s husband Robert (Benjamin Ayres) begins to suspect Emma may not be as innocent as she appears, and a new girl at school seems to know Emma’s secrets from the past. Left with no choice, Emma slips back to her old ways to take care of her enemies by any means necessary…

Reviews:

“It really seems like The Bad Seed should have had either a prestigious reboot by now or a raft of straight-to-DVD sequels in the late 1990s. In terms of violence, The Bad Seed Returns falls somewhere between those two prospects, which is its problem. Indeed, the violence, exploitation, style, and tone are all just too in-between. Nevertheless, the production is professional grade and Grace is pretty chilling.” J.B. Spins
