Election Night is a 2022 British horror thriller film about partying politicos who allow three strangers inside… with a different agenda.

Written, co-produced and directed by Neil Monaghan, making his feature directorial debut (shorts: Follow Me; An Unkind Word; Poster Boy; co-writer of Made in Romania). Also produced by Ben Pickering (Welcome to Curiosity) and Frazer Brown (Tales from the Quarantine).

The movie stars Samantha Loxley (Hosts), Rebecca Ferdinando (Bonded By Blood), Gary Grant (Enemy Lines) Sean Cronin (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation), Eke Chukwu (As Strange As Angels), Julian Seager (Vikings Valhalla) and Bruce Payne (Passenger 57).

Plot:
The public is disillusioned with traditional politicians and the “Establishment”. Many believe in new optimistic rhetoric from a firebrand socialist party, the Progressive Social Alliance.

Others put their faith in a new populist far-right movement, the New Britain Party (NBP), headed by former newspaper baron Dominic Drummond (Bruce Payne) who is the British equivalent of Trump.

Five left-leaning friends gather to watch the TV coverage as the election results pour in and to celebrate the expected win of a female equivalent of Jeremy Corbyn. It’s a drink-fueled night that should be a massive celebration of victory.

But outside, far-right NBP supporters are rioting and claiming the election has been rigged. as the police lose control, three people desperately seek shelter from the violence and knock at the door…
