Directed and edited by Tommy Boulding – making his feature directorial debut – from a screenplay written by Ray Bogdanovich and Dean Lines. Produced by Ben Jacques and Melissa Massey.

The Fiction Films production stars Samantha Bond, Malachi Pullar-Latchman, James Lance, Hannah Traylen, Nick Moran, James Faulkner, Larry Lamb, Nobuse Jnr, Ross Coles, Matt Addis, Duncan Casey, Chris Porter, Katrina Syran, Heather Tracy and Louis Walwyn.

Plot synopsis:
Hired by an antiquities dealer to steal a family heirloom, four young friends break into the seemingly abandoned Redwick Estate in pursuit of the treasure. Once inside the mansion, they discover they are not alone.

Attacked and bound by their captors, they are spirited away and released in the middle of nowhere. As punishment for breaking into their ancestral home, the Redwick’s will hunt the four friends like animals on their sprawling, secluded estate grounds…

Reviews:
Hounded is a darkly satirical, suspenseful, all-action fight to death through some of England’s green and pleasant land. Where Eden Lake (2008) succeeded in exploiting ideas about a violent, nihilistic underclass that Daily Mail readers had been taught to fear, Hounded takes liberal pot shots at the landed gentry who divide and conquer to maintain their status and subjugate those not born to rule.” Britflicks

Hounded is more interested in the thrill of the chase and the social commentary than any gruesome violence or horror, though both sides do suffer unpleasant casualties […] Overall, Hounded didn’t disappoint, keeping me entertained throughout and delivering a solid and satisfying ending.” CineChat

“While it’s entertaining to watch the fluid exchange from hunter to hunted, the lack of even the slightest subtlety means that you never have to think too hard. This absence of puzzle means that Hounded fails to stick with you beyond the credits.” Exquisite Terror

“Whilst it dices with the paranoia of an earlier age, it ultimately delivers something indicative of a generational shift in attitudes. Despite the cynicism of its premise and the criminal behaviour of its protagonists, it’s a film about justice which never turns its back on the possibility of positive change.” 3.5 out of 5, Eye for Film

Hounded is a fun film, not to be taken too seriously, but it is hard not to when the undercurrent theme and storyline could well be used as a training manual for the Tory Party. It’s not the best of the genre of ‘hunted humans’ but it is definitely worth a watch if you enjoy this kind of film.” Ginger Nuts of Horror

Hounded is a competently constructed piece of British horror, as writers Ray Bogdanovich and Dean Lines managed to inject a lot of life and personality into the production. Combine this with some genuinely intense moments and Hounded is an enjoyable outing in British horror.” Grimoire of Horror

” …it’s a little on-the-nose as far as class satire goes. Debut director Tommy Boulding doesn’t really develop the social comment any further, despite the odd good gag […] It doesn’t help that the villainous end of the cast feels a bit tepid, with Bond’s Redwick and her brother (played by James Lance) more primly nagging than abhorrent posho monstrosities.” The Guardian

“With almost all of the film spent in the fight-or-flight mode, Hounded is packed with adrenaline spikes. The result is a film that places the viewer in the ultimate game of hide and seek, ensuring maximum thrills and chills in the process. A simple idea realised beautifully, Hounded is a new, uncomfortably relatable, battle of Britain.” 4 out of 5, The Hollywood News

Hounded is played straight for the most part, with its social commentary leaning toward revenge and drama rather than laughter. Boulding keeps the suspense running at a satisfying clip, and the cast members all give solid performances, led by Bond,  who plays her blue-blooded class guardian role with aplomb and vigor.” Horror Fuel

” …there’s some wit on display (“There’s more guns in my estate than there is in yours”) and 2022 England is hardly the place for subtlety when it comes to things like this. Efforts are made to flesh out the imperiled protagonists, each let down by the same system that allows the sadistic, privileged likes of Bond to thrive and kudos to all involved for emphasising tension over standard issue gore set pieces.” Horror Screams Video Vault

“The charmless protagonists are hard to care about […] There are just so many films like this. Presumably, screenwriters Ray Bogdanovich and Dean Lines hoped to distinguish it with some crude class warfare, but it just makes it sound silly. Not recommended.” J.B. Spins

“The script by Ray Bogdanovich and Dean Lines is cartoonish in its social comment – Katherine speechifies about the state of the country and the ancient traditions of repressive violence she’s upholding – but doesn’t go for the outright comedy of Get Duked.  Mostly, it’s a decent-enough action/survival picture … and doesn’t really get creepy until the home stretch.” The Kim Newman Web Site

Hounded is an action horror that blends The Hunt and Don’t Breathe together to bring us an open area hunt on thieves. The open countryside shows different obstacles the group must overcome to survive while having the dogs hunt them down […] Hounded is an unsettling human hunting movie. 3 stars, Movie Reviews 101

“What’s particularly impactful is Chaz’s arc, as his hopes crumble and he realises how the situation is rigged against him and other working-class folk. No matter how many rules are broken and lives lost, lawful justice won’t make things right when those with status and privilege act as corrupt puppeteers.” Moving Pictures Film Club

Hunted is a vicious analogy for the constant battle between the haves and the have-nots. But while it offers a little bit of gore, a lot of screaming, and plenty of peril, there isn’t much here to make it truly stand out.” Nights and Weekends

“While the action is limited by the low budget, this stripped-back chase movie gets the job done, delivering catharsis and heartbreak in equal measure. Dropping at a time when the divide between rich and poor has never been so pronounced, Hounded is on-the-nose but effective.” 3 out of 5, Starburst

“Nobody really emerges from Hounded looking entirely pretty but, for all the country clan’s claims to superiority, they find themselves outclassed time and time again, when it comes to nobility of action, by the very people whom they despise. It is a picture of social iniquity and the rigged system of class that, in Britain, has long been the dogged tradition.” 3.5 out of 5, VODzilla

” …the most horrific thing about Hunted may be the message the film delivers at the conclusion. It doesn’t matter which group won this battle, the system is still stacked against us mere peons.Thankfully, while the script puts it’s points out there where it’s pretty hard to miss them, it doesn’t constantly dwell on them. Hunted is a thriller first and foremost, and one worth seeing.” 3.5 out of 5, Voices from the Balcony
