Reviews:
“Among the general, lazy, shoddy workmanship on display here, two things stand out. One is the ‘fights’, which are so slow and unexciting that they look like rehearsals, not helped by the non-participants’ tendency to stand around waiting for their next line of dialogue. The other gobsmackingly poor work is in the editing.” Cult films and the people who make them

“There are people on the street who just accept decapitations as everyday occurrences. The evil Domina is laughably weird; I think she’s supposed to be both sexy and dangerous but is neither. The one reasonable character gets tossed out a window to her death (actually, she’s a robot of sorts, so she just gets destroyed) and no one seems to care.” Down Among the “Z’ Movies

“The puppet head used for shots of a decomposed cyborg […] was well-constructed and consistently well-animated. And… no, that’s it. That’s the one shining moment of competence in a production replete with lukewarm acting, thudding dialogue, a medication-dulled plot and a soundtrack of stock music that keeps veering into improvisational jazz at inopportune moments.” Empire of the ‘B’s

“Only worth watching if you’re into this sort of super low-budget, 80s action garbage and even then I don’t recommend watching it alone. Boredom might set in. I was almost in a full-blown coma by final showdown, but with some like-minded friends over you should have a fun time.” Happyotter
“The plot is stupid and, more importantly, confusing […] The acting is… as bad as you would think. I mean, this is a Rick Gianasi film. Do I even need to say any more? Yeah, I thought not. This movie is fun for some stupid laughs, but only if you can laugh at terrible acting and bad kung-fu.” Mondo Bizzaro
“Kincaid’s action direction is laughable – the funniest sequence in the film is one near the start where one of the androids invades hero Rick Gianisi’s apartment and we are treated to the sight of Gianisi in a pair of white underpants and an android in a boiler suit pursuing one another back and forward across the top of a bed […] Mostly, Mutant Hunt is utterly dreary.” Moria

“Purely because of the fights and the occasional cyborg meltdowns, this one might be funny to watch for laughs, preferably when stoned.” Naturalistic! Uncanny! Marvelous!
“This is basically a martial arts film with endless fight scenes and only a few ray guns and explosions. I’ve seen worse bad films — like Robot Holocaust — but that isn’t necessarily a good thing. After all, at least his other film had deadly sock puppet monsters, the world’s most annoying robot buddy, a seriously strange villain, and one of the most awful femme fatale accents ever.” Rivets on the Poster

“Mutant Hunt is a piece of sh*t film, for sure, but one that packs in so many horribly awesome karate fights and really fun, good-quality gore that it was an absolute blast to watch. I even watched the finale twice I enjoyed it so much. This is definitely high-level B-Movie watching, so anyone who enjoys such things should get a full-spin, roundhouse kick to the face out of this one.” Silver Emulsion
“Riker goes on a killing spree looking for Z and boringly kicking some @ss. He’s one of the least charismatic heroes I’ve ever seen in a movie. He was a complete cardboard cutout […] You get nonstop terrible synth (of course), lasers, and random nonsensical sci-fi explanations on tiny text screens.” VHSh*tfest

“The messy, gooey aftermaths of the dispatched robots (especially the half-melted robot) are the best things about the movie. The action is pathetic though. The funniest bit comes when Riker gets chased his apartment in his underwear by some robots. The various fight scenes and shootouts are weak too. Kincaid even drops the ball when it comes to the kickboxing stripper.” The Video Vacuum
