Reviews:
“Overall, what Breakout lacks in budget it makes up for with a great cast, regular action scenes and a memorable villain making it an easy watch and arguably Brandon Slagle’s best film yet.” The Action Elite

” …Breakout is 86 minutes of lean, mean indie action with Director Brandon Slagle and star Louis Mandylor rising to the occasion. There are numerous sequences of violence and a little dash of human drama to entertain. It hits the ground running and never lets up until the final credits roll.” Action Flix

“This is a fun action movie using a traditional action concept. You can see this getting the typical branding ‘Die Hard in a Prison’ as it sees a solo military person fighting bad guys to save a loved one. This does everything right and easily fits in the enjoyable late-night action movie. It doesn’t try to do anything overly ambitious, just getting the basic concept right.” 3 out of 5, Movie Reviews 101

“From the pair’s first moments on-screen, father-son tensions are explored courtesy of barbed insults drowning in exposition, which accurately reflects how the actors struggle with the lacklustre dialogue. Considering this is an action film, it is unfortunate the fight scenes and their resulting violence are edited within an inch of their lives. What is shown is too by the numbers to quicken one’s pulse or stick in the memory.” 1 out of 5, Nerdly

“Though it breaks no moulds, Breakout is nonetheless a swift, well-acted and action-packed B-film. Budgetary restraints, a weak soundtrack, and a dire lack of character bring it down, but the romp is enjoyable to the end.” 3 out of 5, Voices from the Balcony
