Reviews:
“When everything comes to its barbaric climax in the third act, The Black Mass has fully pulled viewers in. There are some bumps along the way – some scenes do have a tendency to run long, for example – but nothing that will ruin the viewing experience. Methodical and powerful, this is a clever addition to the true crime subgenre.” AIPT

“A true crime film with some slasher inspiration, some true 1970s style, this serial killer film focuses on the victims, specifically those whose lives interconnected in Florida at the time of bell bottoms, feathered hair, and murders. This directorial debut marks a very pinpointed voice in the horror genre, one of an actress and producer finally finding the perfect material to turn into her first feature as a director.” Cinema Crazed

“It’s unconscionable, unbelievable, and incredibly unsettling to watch. But, it’s a necessity to understanding pure evil. While the violent is deeply upsetting, Black Mass superbly captures the pure evil of Ted Bundy while paying tribute to his victims.” 4 out of 5, Dread Central

“Devanny Pinn’s feature debut is cold and confronting. Her approach to the world of serial killers will not be to the tastes of everybody, but in telling the story this way she is consciously pushing for a response from the audience. Society’s obsession with killers at the expense of victims is cast into the spotlight with Pinn giving them exactly what they think they want.” ★★★ The Hollywood News

“It offers chills, yes, but also a deep-seated admiration for those who faced adversity and emerged resilient […] The Black Mass delivers on all fronts. It masterfully balances authentic crime undertones with an innovative story approach. Even though it delves into some seriously dark depths, it deserves a spot in the cinematic spotlight.” Overly Honest Movie Reviews

” ….Black Mass is a deeply disturbing film, and that’s not so much to the pretty graphic murders that make up its third act, the whole thing doesn’t feel quite right (and intentionally so) from way earlier, fueled by the decision to not actually show Ted’s face full on until the very end…” Search My Trash

Blurb:
“The eagerly awaited first directorial venture of genre mainstay Devanny Pinn, a seasoned actor with over eighty horror films to her credit, having co-starred with illustrious personalities such as Linda Blair, Danny Trejo, and Sid Haig.

This true-crime thriller is grounded in the chilling real-life events that transpired in Florida during the winter of 1978. The narrative spans a tense 24-hour period, focusing on a ruthless serial killer in the tense hours preceding his ultimate, unhinged rampage. Pinn presents a deeply disturbing glimpse into the warped psyche of a notorious killer while also shedding light on the far-reaching impact of his brutal deeds on his victims and their survivors.”
