Plot:
David Petersen (Allen Leech) is passing through the Colorado Rockies. After saving a young diner waitress from her violent ex-husband during a break from driving, he hits the road again through a dangerous snow blizzard.

However, one false move behind the wheel has him waking up inside a ravine and in the freezing eye of the storm. But the cold is the least of his worries. A shadowy beast starts prowling around outside his car. How will he survive?

Reviews:
“The addition of some excellent make-up work that shows the trapped pair slowly losing their battle against the extreme temperatures, builds into the real-world feel of the film. Cold Meat presents a crisp, claustrophobic spin on the serial killer thriller that will keep its audience riveted till its chilling conclusion.” ★★★★ The Hollywood News

Cold Meat is a trapped-in-hostile-territory movie which also overlaps with the two-people-in-a-car ordeal sub-genre […] The central section gets a bit chatty, but performances are strong enough to sell the back-and-forth – and Drouin manages an impressive, intimidating sense of a cruel landscape possibly haunted by monsters.” The Kim Newman Web Site

” …where this movie struggles is showing us the true course of time involved. For example, it feels like somebody would have done some searching even with the bad conditions outside. In the end. This is an effective horror that gets the chilling performance it desires.” Movie Reviews 101

” … a tense and surprising story of hope, disgust, fear and catharsis. Backstories of the characters are shared via expository monologues, which hurts the immersion in the story and reveal motivations that are somewhat stereotypical. However the lensing – courtesy of DP Ryan Petey – is gorgeous, blending shots of the outdoors with interesting uses of car mirrors and binocular POVs…” Moving Pictures Film Club

” …we follow David all at once being exposed to the harshest elements and being gradually stripped down to his raw essence. Yet far from being a solo adventure, this takes a dramatic, unexpected turn early on – not unlike David’s vehicle – and will become a tense two-way dialectic on good and evil, recovery and irredeemability.” Projected Figures
