Reviews:
“Overall, Locked In is simply another forgettable Netflix thriller. There’s very little chemistry between the leads, and the plot is paper-thin. While the climax does introduce an interesting twist, it fails to redeem the overall story.” 4 out of 10, Abstract AF!
“Rose, Hassell, and Cole do get to spend a lot of time around a very fake-looking lake, and that did get a reaction from me. The reaction was laughter, BTW. Jansse does a lot of eye acting, but again, it’s unintentionally hilarious […] Locked In is yet another bland-as-hell Netflix thriller.” DMT
“Locked In is a watchable thriller with a good cast and intriguing premise, but it is ultimately too tame and predictable for its good. The film’s slow pacing and lack of suspense make it difficult to stay engaged, and the underdeveloped characters make it difficult to care about what happens to them.” ★★★ Filmy Hype
“The story is definitely intriguing, but it does get too slow and feels much longer than it is. The runtime is just 1 hour and 36 minutes, so that’s hardly much. Also, there’s an affair that I never really feel is very organic. Instead, it feels forced and distracting.” ★★ Heaven of Horror
“Locked In remains at its best when circling the love triangle, or honed in on the bitchy exchanges between Lina and Katherine. Janssen, who has played this kind of role before with aplomb in the Ryan Murphy sandbox, remains the obvious highlight […] Netflix or Lifetime? There is nothing distinctive here to tell them apart, yet that may just be part of the fun.” ★★★ Josh at the Movies
“Locked In (2023) is a thriller with a weak plot but strong characters who portray the title better than anything shown in the film. The suspense lacks in strength making this a heartbreaker for thriller fans, however, the depth of the character and the setting of the film make this a pleasant watch for those who love the art.” Leisure Byte
“This is a thriller that has a clever idea, however, it is told in a strange way. The story tries to show the events being discovered by a nurse, even though most of the movie is the daughter’s point of view […] The film doesn’t click as well as it could and ends up going in an unusual direction.” ★★★ Movie Reviews 101
“Locked In is the type of made-for-TV thriller you’d expect to catch on Lifetime on a Friday night. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s got a great cast, an easy-to-follow yet engaging story, a thrilling atmosphere, and a soothingly predictable plot; the perfect guilty pleasure.” ★★★ Ready Steady Cut
