THE WINDIGO Reviews of Native American horror plus trailer

‘It can take away your enemies and your fears’
The Windigo is a 2024 horror film about an ancient Chippewa demon that is resurrected by a Native American teenager and his grandmother to protect their family after a run-in with backwoods meth dealers. They soon discover that the creature’s lust for killing cannot be controlled. As each killing bonds the teen and the Windigo ever closer, the family must find a way to break the curse before all of them become the blood-thirsty creature’s next victims.

Directed by Gabe Torres from a screenplay written by Brent Jordan.

The Gylden Entertainment production stars Marco Fuller, Fivel Stewart and Tonantzin Carmelo.

Reviews:
“Come for bone-cracking scares from an ancient evil reborn. Stay for a modern cinematic fable woven around the bonds of family – and what violent shapes love warps into when humanity falters in the darkness. The Windigo ushers in 2024 as the first must-see horror Film of the year.” Gazettely

“The characters are never interesting enough to care about, and their fates don’t matter enough to get the viewer involved. Effects alone can’t save The Windigo from an all too familiar script that pulls bits and pieces from much better films. At one point, it even tries riffing on Ripley’s battle with the Queen Alien, only with a John Deere tractor instead of the mech suit.” ★½ Voices from the Balcony
