‘Based on the true story’
Gacy: Serial Killer Next Door is a 2024 horror film in which a teenage boy’s life is upturned when a psycho becomes his neighbour. The teen’s curiosity leads to dark secrets and a frightening journey from innocence to a dire clash with evil.
Written and directed by Michael Feifer. The movie stars Mason McNulty with Mike Korich – as John Wayne Gacy – plus Brock Burnett, Caia Coley, Gordon Hinchen, Shelby Janes, Nick Stellate, Michael Boutell, Izabellah Diez, Lilo Baier, Ashley Ray Keefe, Angelina Divine, Ryker Baloun and John Omohundro.
Plot:
For young Bobby, life in his peaceful suburban neighbourhood takes a sinister turn when John Wayne Gacy, a seemingly friendly clown known as “Pogo,” moves in next door. Curiosity piqued, Bobby finds himself drawn to Gacy’s charismatic yet unsettling demeanour, unaware of the monstrous secrets he harbours.

As Bobby delves deeper into Gacy’s world, he stumbles upon unsettling clues that hint at a hidden darkness. The once-playful interactions take on a sinister edge, and Bobby’s innocence begins to crumble as he confronts the chilling reality of his neighbour’s true nature.
Caught between fear and a desperate need to stop the evil unfolding before him, Bobby must make a heart-wrenching choice. Will he succumb to the terror or find the courage to confront the monster lurking next door, even if it means risking his own life?
Meanwhile, as noted by Bloody Disgusting, “real-life serial killer John Wayne Gacy has been the subject of a handful of horror movies over the years, played by Brian Dennehy in To Catch a Killer (1992), Mark Holton in Gacy (2003), and William Forsythe in Dear Mr. Gacy (2010). And then there’s 2010’s Dahmer vs. Gacy (yeah…) and the same year’s 8213: Gacy House, the latter a found footage horror movie.” Perhaps yet another Gacy movie is (ahem) overkill?
