The Shining – director Mick Garris’ 1997 mini-series version of Stephen King’s novel which was scripted by the author himself – is being released on Blu-ray by Shout! Factory. This new release features a 2K scan from the interpositive and audio commentary from Stephen King, director Mick Garris, cast members Steven Weber and Cynthia Garris, and select crew.  The Blu-ray will be released on March 12, 2024. The 1997 adaptation of The Shining stars Steven Weber as Jack Torrance; Rebecca De Mornay as Jack’s wife Wendy; Courtland Mead and Wil Horneff as different-aged versions of Danny Torrance; and Melvin Van Peebles as Dick Hallorann. Plot:
Jack Torrance (Steven Weber) and his family (Rebecca De Mornay and Courtland Mead) move into the sprawling, vacant Overlook Hotel to get away from it all.
