‘ …even God knows not of this place’
Bogieville is a 2024 horror film about a young couple on the run who come across a derelict trailer park, where they soon learn that the residents are a pack of vampires. The movie is described as “a Southern-fried vampire thriller.”

The movie was directed, co-produced and co-stars actor turned filmmaker Sean Cronin (Drained; Eleven) from a screenplay by Henry P. Gravelle. Co-produced by Djonny Chen and Ben Pickering. Executive produced by Phil Chesworth.

The Magnificent Films-Silent D Pictures co-production also stars Arifin Putra (The Raid 2), Eloise Lovell Anderson (Villain), Daniel P Lewis, Jonathan Hansler, Sarina Taylor, Angela Dixon, Poppie Jae Hughes, Alex Reece, Natalie Hopkins, Darren Tassell, Joe Riley, Nino Fernandez, Rico Morris, Ryan Livingstone, Fredi ‘Kruga’ Nwaka, Julian Gamm and Mollie Hindle.

Our review:
British-made Bogieville begins promisingly with a vampire attack that showcases some impressive makeup, and the attempts at masquerading as a Stateside production are on point, particularly in scenes at the seedy Bog Toe bar and an old gas station. Unfortunately, the run-down trailer park is represented by a few beaten-up old caravans that are most resolutely British.

Meanwhile, some of the cast have better Deep South accents than others, which is occasionally distracting. The running time is overlong for the amount of plot and there’s too much exposition in the middle section before Bogieville picks up towards its conclusion. The creepy little girl vampire played by Poppie Jae Hughes is the most memorable part of the movie.
