Reviews:
“Sorry, Charlie may seem to be made in the cloak of the slasher, but it’s more about grief, adjusting after a horrific event and trying to move past it. We don’t all get to so violently deal with our trauma, but Charlie sure does.” B&S About Movies
“Sorry, Charlie is an impressive feat of risk-taking for Tran and Genton. They’re asking their viewer for a lot of trust throughout the film’s more predictable beats, and those who invest in Sorry, Charlie will get that satisfaction. It’s just up to the viewer to decide if they’re willing to do just that.” Dread Central
“Sorry, Charlie is like a stalk-and-slash movie with lots more of the former than the latter, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it is pretty obvious from the get-go where everything is headed […] I would recommend it for Kenny’s performance and to see which side of the fence you fall regarding the big reveal.” The Good, the Bad and the Verdict
“Most viewers will enjoy the pacing of the second half of the film. Though it’s too hard not to see what’s coming. A twist of a twist of a twist could throw this film over the edge but it would possibly miss out on the point.’ ★★½ Horror Movies Uncut
“While there are some thrilling moments and a few creative twists, the flick ultimately struggles with uneven pacing and an unengaging first act, resulting in a film that’s only moderately entertaining.” Jackmeats Flix
“Sorry, Charlie is filled with tension and a captivating story.” ★★★ Movie Reviews 101
“There are easy comparisons to be drawn to the opening fifteen minutes of the original Scream and the first twenty minutes of the original When a Stranger Calls too, but that shouldn’t distract from your enjoyment of this cat-and-mouse thriller that throws in a few plausible twists that will surprise you along the way to a satisfying climax.” 7/10, My Bloody Reviews
“Sorry, Charlie has a run time of 75 minutes, but the exposition-heavy first half might make it seem longer for some viewers. The second half definitely embraces more of the dread and anxiety associated with isolation. With the familiar set-up of stalker and prey, the film follows a predictable direction but still ends with a nice surprise.” Nightmarish Conjurings
” …it’s not a bad way to kill 75 minutes — and it offers up the kind of twists and turns modern audiences should like in their home invasion pictures. I kind of wish it had gone down a bit of a darker path toward the end, but I’m still happy enough with what I got.” ★★★½ Ruthless Evil
“I am curious to see how women will react to this film. The subject material is certainly the stuff of female nightmares, but whether Charlie is a compelling enough protagonist to overcome the sense of exploitation usually assigned to this kind of content would be enlightening for me. From my point of view, Charlie is a winner.” The Scariest Things
