The End of Oak Street is a 2026 sci-fi mystery action film about a family that has to bond together after a cosmic event.
The movie was directed by David Robert Mitchell (It Follows; Under the Silver Lake) and produced by J.J. Abrams.
The production stars Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella and Christian Convery.
Director David Robert Mitchell has said the film’s biggest inspirations are closer to Poltergeist, The Twilight Zone and Signs rather than Jurassic Park. Producer J.J. Abrams has likewise described it as “a people movie with monsters in it,” emphasizing the family’s emotional journey over spectacle.
Plot:
The Platt family live an ordinary suburban life on Oak Street. One day, a mysterious cosmic event tears their entire neighborhood out of reality and transports it to an unknown, hostile world. Their familiar suburban street now ends at the edge of an immense prehistoric wilderness filled with towering forests and dinosaurs.
As the family struggles to understand what has happened, they discover they are isolated from civilization and surrounded by dangerous creatures. Forced to rely on one another, they must navigate this bizarre new environment while searching for answers and a way home…
