Dominion of Darkness 2: Blood Covenant is a 2026 horror film and is a blend of Catholic exorcism and Indonesian folklore. The returning cast includes Jerome Kurnia as Father Thomas and Lukman Sardi as Father Rendra.
Directed by Rizal Mantovani (Village of the Dead; Take Me to Hell; ) from a screenplay by Andri Cahyadi and Robert Ronny.
The sequel is described by its producers as being larger in scope than the original, with more elaborate exorcism sequences, larger-scale set pieces, and a stronger emphasis on the conflict between faith, temptation, and inherited sin.
Plot:
Set after the events of Dominion of Darkness (2024), this film expands the mythology by introducing the idea of an ancient blood pact (“perjanjian darah”) that has bound generations of a remote community to a malevolent supernatural force. The story combines traditional Indonesian beliefs surrounding pesugihan (occult rituals performed in exchange for wealth or power) with Catholic exorcism, creating a clash between inherited evil and religious faith.
When a failed ritual awakens a powerful Rephaim demon, Father Thomas and Father Rendra are called to investigate. As possession spreads and terrifying supernatural events escalate, the priests discover that the demonic force is tied to a decades-old bargain whose consequences threaten not just one family, but an entire region…
