Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a 2012 American pseudo-documentary 3D action horror film directed by Timur Bekmambetov and co-produced with Tim Burton (Sleepy Hollow; Mars Attacks!; Ed Wood). Seth Grahame-Smith adapted the screenplay from his mashup 2010 novel.

Plot:
The real-life figure Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States (1861–1865), is portrayed as having a secret identity as a vampire hunter…

Reviews:
” … loud, fast and  crunchy – and I suspect it’s going to slay audiences at the box office. You could find the mash-ups coming out of Hollywood now (Cowboys & Aliens, etc) just depressing evidence of cynicism, proof of an inability to take anything to take anything, even genre, never mind history, seriously anymore. But there’s no need to be so pompous. When they’re done with as much conviction as this, they’re just extending the possibilities of romp.” London Evening Standard

“Even with its shortcomings, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a far better film than you’re expecting. History buffs and purists may decry this as a new low for Hollywood, but I can’t imagine Spielberg doing much better when his giant Lincoln biopic hits Oscar-bait season later this year. Unless Daniel Day-Lewis has a bullet-shooting axe.” Dread Central

“At a taut 105 minutes, Abraham Lincoln credibly delivers the thrills and gore it promises, though it’s ultimately too lightweight and conventional to merit either cult or classic status.” The Hollywood Reporter

“A crazily daring 3D tussle amid stampeding horses is truly a standout, particularly since it feels cut and pasted from another movie. Unfortunately, the relentlessly quick-fire editing means you can barely clock what’s fist or fang.” London Metro
