Sadako 3D 2 is a 2013 Japanese horror film directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa based on a novel by Kôji Suzuki.

The film stars Miori Takimoto, Satomi Ishihara, Kôji Seto and Yûsuke Yamamoto.

It is slated for an August 30th release by Kadokawa Pictures.

Plot:

Set five years after Sadako 3D, a clinical psychologist (Takimoto) is raising her four-year-old niece, whose mother died in childbirth. The cursed online video clip reappears, and strange things begin to occur around the young girl…

Reviews:

“There is occasional callbacks to the original, more so to Sadako 3D, but the tone of the film is a long way from the sheer uncanniness that Hideo Nakata conjured in the first two Ring films. Director Tsutomu Hanabusa provides one or two okay moments. I did like the scene where Mori Takimoto is attacked by doctor Itsumi Asawa only for the doctor’s hair to become caught in the paper shredder…” Moria

Sadako 3D 2 is about possessed people, spooky drawings and constant flashbacks. If this combination of elements is familiar, it’s only because they are boring low budget horror movie clichés. The studio took an attractive gimmick and reduced it to ashes. A spoon-fed procedural then takes us by the hand and reveals a story so complicated it has us look at the clock all through the last act.” Tales of Terror
