The Monsters Chess Set featuring Universal Studios monsters was a limited edition chess set issued in 1999 by a company named Spencer.
The King and Queens of both pieces are 3 inches tall. The chess board set weighs over 10 lbs. and the box measures 14 1/2″ x 14 1/2″.
The set consists of the following playing pieces:
(1) Frankenstein – King, Bride of Frankenstein – Queen, Dracula – Bishop, Creature From the Black Lagoon – Knight, Frankenstein’s Laboratory – Rook and eight Tombstones – Pawns
(2) The Mummy – King, Anch Su Namun – Queen, The Phantom of the Opera – Bishop, The Wolfman – Knight, Pyramid – Rook and eight Canopic Jars – Pawns
