Ouija Summoning – aka Ouija: The Devil’s Game – is a 2015 American supernatural horror feature film written and directed by Marwan Mokbel. The Egywood Pictures production stars Tara Shayne, Marty Dew, Kristen Hagen and Thomas Garner.

Plot:

Sara (Tara Shayne) lived a seemingly normal life before she had a creepy Ouija board experience that unleashed a dark spirit. The spirit wants Sara to relive it’s tortured past, and compels her to commit murder towards one of her family members or loved ones. Sara resists these threats and tries to stand against the power.

However, Sara is forced to either watch her loved ones die one after the other, or obey the spirit and kill only one of them herself, as the spirit had done to her own son, long before. She must kill only one, and face the regret and pain of committing murder, or watch everyone around her die…

Reviews [click links to read more]:

Ouija Summoning is quite cheesy and to begin with I wasn’t too impressed. I thought it was pretty bad acting and that the story was told in a clumsy way. But the more I saw I realized that the scary moments are really… scary. There are effective moment designed to be scary and I think those scenes work quite well.” Active Context

“Someone like myself will watch almost anything featuring a spirit board and I might never have noticed the film otherwise. On the other hand, Ouija Summoning is so thinly written, flatly acted, and dully shot that it might be better off not calling any additional attention to itself.” Culture Crypt

“I found the lighting in the film to be very effective too. Many scenes are dark and moody, but you can always tell what’s going on. I enjoyed the film’s dream sequences as well. Ouija Summoning is a very entertaining horror film that you won’t want to miss…” Indie Horror Online

“Director Marwan Mokbel does all the things that make horror tedious: long drawn-out scenes that seem to be pumping atmosphere up far more than it needs to be; fake jump shocks like people banging on a car window. Certainly, I do have to commend Marwan Mokbel as there are one or two scenes where he does manage to make us jump…”  Moria
