Black Circle is a Swedish-Mexican horror film directed by Adrián García Bogliano (Scherzo Diabolico; Late Phases; Here Comes the Devil). The movie stars Christina Lindberg, Felice Jankell, Erica Midfjäll and Hanna Midfjäll.
Plot:
When her sister Isa recommends she listen to an old 1970s vinyl album she swears changes lives, Celeste is sceptical to say the least.
However, deciding to go along with Isa’s request she plays the ‘Magnetic Hypnosis’ record just as slumber hits only to realise she has released a ghostly doppelgänger desperate to replace its original…
Bogliano has commented:
“Black Circle is completely different to everything I’ve made so far. It’s a psychedelic supernatural film where I got to experiment with themes and images that are new for me. It’s going to be an intense hypnotic experience for the audience. And the background of Sweden and its culture and amazing actors give the film a totally unique flavour.
The promo screenings that we’ve had so far have been overwhelmingly positive. I can’t wait to share Black Circle with a wider audience.”
Black Circle had its British premiere at the Glasgow Arrow Video FrightFest on 1 March 2019.
