‘Awaken the evil’
Red Island is a 2018 Canadian horror film written, photographed, co-produced and directed by Lux (cinematographer on The Woods, 2013). The movie stars Alex Essoe, Georgie Daburas and Tawny West.
Plot:
In an effort to repair a stale relationship, John (Alex Essoe) accompanies his archaeologist girlfriend, Amy (Tawny West) to a remote island to locate ancient indigenous Americans’ artefacts.
They discover extremely old cave markings along with a long lost believed to be sacred mask; when it disappears, strange occurrences happen which unleashes a mythological creature that hunts them down as they try to escape and get off the island…

By the time the last half hour rolls around and we get more than just loads of talk it’s too late.
