Reviews:

” …there’s jump scares, there’s lots of freaky things going on, there’s a tracking shot of a remote-controlled car – which is straight out of The Shining, and out of an ‘surprises’, there’s nothing that makes you wonder “How did they do that?” Overall, Susan Hill’s Ghost Story doesn’t really do anything we’ve not seen before, but maybe you’ll get a lot out of this if you enjoy ghost stories.” DVD Fever

“The direction of this adaptation of Susan Hill’s Ghost Story moves at a glacial pace. It is also heavily riddled with very corporeal apparitions appearing before the protagonist thus negating any real suspense or apprehension you, the viewer, may have had. A big disappointment…” Phil Neil

“Television is capable of delivering genuine chills – see last year’s Inside No 9 “live” special. I watched this one alone with the lights off, willing myself to be frightened. No such luck: I found myself idly admiring Adam’s radiators and wondering about his heating bills.” The Telegraph
