Reviews:
“Intensely atmospheric, unyieldingly violent, and remarkably self-aware, Deliver Us from Evil is a movie that reminds us that it isn’t the story, but rather how it’s told, that makes for a great movie.” Goggler
“The overall narrative in Deliver Us from Evil isn’t insanely epic or thought-provoking and some of it feels rather familiar. But it’s enough to get the ball rolling and let the art team and actors work their magic. The film feels like a love letter to genre film fans… At all costs, Deliver Us from Evil should be seen on the largest screen possible with the music cranked up to maximize the enjoyment in this long-overdue ride through vintage Korean action style.” The Movie Beat
“Deliver Us from Evil misses a few of its beats, such as some emotional stakes it tries to inject too late in the game, but on the whole, it’s a straightforward, brain-off action romp with cool visuals, and taken for what it is, its array of violent interludes and macho postering will be a pleasing one for the right audience.” Screen Anarchy
“Although it throws lots of physical actions into the screen as required during its second half, the movie fails to engage us due to the apparent lack of personality. The action scenes in the film are well-made on the surface, but they are somehow devoid of style and energy on the whole, and we are simply served with lots of bangs and crashes without much dramatic impact.” Seongyong’s Private Place
