‘Two ways in – no way out’

With first responders struggling to gain access to the incident due to blizzard conditions, everyone inside is left to fight for their lives…

Released theatrically in Norway in 2019. In the USA, Samuel Goldwyn Films releases The Tunnel On-Demand on April 9th 2021.

“Using the Norwegian winter as an atmospheric backdrop, Pål Øie takes advantage of the natural environment and the claustrophobic situation to build up tension. By focusing on character as well as set-pieces, we can actually root for these people. There’s an investment you often don’t find in major action films.” Backseat Mafia

” …this is formulaic stuff, but Tunnelen uses the formula well and to its own advantage […] In leading roles, Thorbjørn Harr, Ylva Fuglerud and Ingvild Holthe Bygdnes all give heartfelt performances, elevating what could otherwise have come off as strictly a genre-movie to a dramatically valid and poignant film.” The Fresh Films

“All the traditional ingredients are there, and I do have to say that the film does a good initial job of being claustrophobic and spectacular at the same time. But I couldn’t help thinking of the classic disaster spoof Airplane! when we kept cutting back to a certain woman…” The Guardian

“This is a great realistic-looking disaster film that brings the importance of needing to save a loved one, no matter what it takes.” Movie Review 101
