Reviews:

” …there is truly no need for this film when the original was so good—and it remains widely available […] Whereas Huh’s film was creepy and intense, in ways that facilitated the suspension of disbelief, the remake looks and feels bogus and lifeless. Not recommended…” J.B. Spins

“Even if it fails to go the extra mile, the lead character played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers is compelling at least. The recurring nightmares, however, quickly grow stale. Once the script puts children in peril, it soars to thrilling highs that are unparalleled in the first two acts. Hide and Seek had a long way to go in terms of being an actual good thriller, but the fumbling of the killer’s unmasking makes the conclusion into a feature difficult to recommend.” Josh at the Movies

“Rife with great performances and unexpected twists, Hide and Seek is anything but a by-the-numbers remake. Instead, it employs the spirit of Korean horror cinema to view American culture from a new perspective. In this way, it is not only an entertaining and scary film but also an important one.” Rue Morgue

Release date:

In the US, Saban Films will release Hide and Seek theatrically in select locations on On-Demand on November 19th, 2021.
