Reviews:

Nightride is a thrilling and tension-filled hour and a half. It has fantastic visuals and music that make the film stand out, and the lead actor Dunford does a very good job of keeping the audience engaged throughout. His ability to command the camera’s attention throughout the film is excellent. His story is the driving force of the film.” 3/5 Disappointment Media

“There’s a propulsive, driving force to the way the film is directed, but there are some things that don’t entirely track: his putative garage business associate […] is fulfilling the plot function of a spouse or romantic partner, and I wonder if it’s plausible that a drug dealer of Budge’s prominence thinks he can just quit and become a civilian in the same city.” The Guardian

“The plot of Nightride is little more than an assembly of stock types […] The one-take gimmick — much easier to achieve now thanks to digital cameras — has become common enough that it barely qualifies as novel […] there is a kind of “Look, Ma, no hands!” bluster to this technique that smacks of needlessly showing off, calling attention to the aptitude of the filmmaker at the expense of the characters and the story.” The New York Times

” …the most exciting part of Nightride wasn’t even planned! The police actually pull over Dunford, and the actor who is more than halfway through this exercise is forced to improv his way back on the road. It’s absolutely riveting and speaks to Dunford’s performance capabilities. Otherwise, Fingleton’s ambitious crime caper is a bit of a snooze.” Wylie Writes
