Escape to the Cove is a 2021 American science-fiction horror film about survivors of a pandemic dealing with hunger, pirates and zombies. Also known as The Cove

Written, directed by and co-starring Robert Enriquez, the 101 Films-Red Baron Films production stars Elisa Janelle Alpizar, Garrett Barghash, Phillip Cook and in a cameo role, Eric Roberts.

Plot:
In the near future, a pandemic has ravaged the earth. Fear, greed, destruction and famine have made way for such terrors as pirates and zombies.

Cairo Yazid (Garrett Barghash) decides his only chance for survival is to join forces with a curmudgeon, Solomon (Robert Enriquez), also still untouched by the fatal virus, as he is the only one who knows the secret location of the safe place known simply as The Cove…

Reviews:
The Cove makes uses of its limitations by telling a story more about characters than about the larger world itself, and while it may be relatively low thrills it wasn’t a bad entry in the genre as the low thrills also gave a strange chilled post-apocalyptic vibe.” The Rotting Zombie

The Cove does have a few nice touches, like the aquatic zombies and the weird luminescent blue water. But that was far from enough to keep me interested. Between a script that seemed confused as to just how ravaged and destroyed society is and distinctly unbelievable characters, I was zoned out well before the Deus ex machina ending.” Voices from the Balcony
