Reviews:
“It’s a charming dramedy that pares back scale and style. It never gets too heady or deep with its musings either, and the pacing can sag because of it. Instead, Next Exit is a loose, horror-adjacent showcase for Parker and Kolhi’s talents. Forget about the afterlife; their winsome performances and chemistry will leave you wondering why they aren’t more prominent stars.” 3/5 Bloody Disgusting

“Amid the pain and suffering on display throughout the film, Elfman presents a necessary empathy, a suggestion that we’re all our own arbiters of good or evil and that the ghosts which follow us are of our own making. This creates a notion that our punishment (in life or death) is of our own making and is entirely created by how we perceive ourselves or how we believe others perceive us.” 4/5 Elements of Madness

“Elfman ultimately leaves us with a message of hope, as she invites us to make amends and believe in second chances, letting go of the guilt we carry and choosing to feel and live instead of giving up, but she also misses the opportunity to do something more daring, in line with the film’s original premise and introduction.” 3/5 Loud and Clear

“The subdued quality of Next Exit increases the personal feel accompanying Rose and Teddy on their journey. The special effects at the end are subpar, so it was difficult to immerse myself […] Next Exit is creepy at times, but a delightfully dark comedy, with two impressive performances holding the story together.” Nightmarish Conjurings
