The Amityville Curse is a 2023 American horror film in which a group of friends purchase an infamous home with the intention of flipping it, only to discover a deadly paranormal presence emanating from within the house.

The Incendo Productions movie stars Brendan Fehr, Ennis Esmer, Jenny Raven, Dillon Casey, Vanessa Smythe, Mercedes Morris, Tommie-Amber Pirie, Michael Xavier, Kenny Wong, Jennifer Miller and Felicia Shulman.

Reviews:
“Directed by Eric Tessier and written by Dennis Heaton (who also wrote Fido), this is actually just fine. But seriously, at this stage of the game, if you’re making an Amityville movie, you need to be more than fine. You need to reclaim whatever this franchise — is it even a franchise? — is and go absolutely wild.” B&S About Movies

“At its best, the film reinvigorates a legendary haunting through relationships unraveling into madness and betrayal sparked by otherworldly influence rather than overt routine. At its worst, the need to nod at threadbare tropes and dull expectations drags it back to the familiar franchise lumbering on in lieu of imagination.” Horror Facts

“Unlike most entries in this lousy so-called franchise, this one feels like an actual movie, which isn’t to say it’s a necessarily good movie. The F/X are cheap, suspense is non-existent, and the characters are obnoxiously unrealistic and wholly unlikable.” 2 out of 4, Splatter Critic

“To be fair the original version of The Amityville Curse, which is also on Tubi, is a dull and unmemorable affair that even Kim Coates couldn’t breathe any life into, so this is hardly a case of desecrating a classic. But it is disheartening that they couldn’t improve on it either, it’s not like the bar was set very high and the material certainly had the potential to be an entertainingly trashy film in the style of Amityville: The Possession.” 1.5 out of 5, Voices from the Balcony
