The Thing Behind the Door is a 2023 French horror film about a young woman who brings her dead lover back from beyond the grave.
Directed by Fabrice Blin (shorts: Monsieur Méchant; Mandragore; documentary Super 8 Madness!), the Phase 4 Productions movie stars Séverine Ferrer, David Doukhan, Fabien Jegoudez, Quentin Surtel and Yves Lecat.
Plot:
Adèle (Séverine Ferrer), a young woman, is literally haunted by the death of her husband, killed in a trench during World War I.
Desperate and unable to face this tragic loss, Adèle turns to black magic in the hope to bring her lover back. The miracle will happen, but Adèle will have to pay the price for opening this Pandora’s Box…
The plot has echoes of the tale of ‘The Monkey’s Paw’.

In the US, The Thing Behind the Door will be released on VOD and DVD by Freestyle Digital Media on August 8, 2023.
