Death Whisperer is a 2023 Thai horror film about a family beset by a bizarre illness that is causing a daughter to behave aberrantly.
Directed by Thaweewat Wanta from a screenplay written by Sorarat Jirabovornwisut and Thammanan Chulaborirak, adapted from Krittanon’s novel Tee Yod. Produced by Narit Yuvaboon. Executive produced by Surin Krittayapongphan, Piyawadee Maleenont, Tracy Ann Maleenont and Vichaya Poolvaraluk.
The Major Join Film-BEC World production stars Nadech Kugimiya, Denise Jelilcha Kapaun, Karj-bundit Jaidee, Peerakit Patcharabunyakiat, Rattanawadee Wongtong, Arisara Wongchalee and Paramet Noi-um.
Plot:
1972: In a village far from civilisation in Kanchanaburi province, a farmer has a family with six children including three sons, Yak, Yos, Yod, and three daughters, Yad, Yam and Yee, respectively.
Suddenly, a young girl in the village dies under mysterious circumstances. Soon after, the three daughters encounter a mysterious and ghostly woman in a black dress on the way from home to school.
Not long after, Yam becomes ill with strange symptoms. Her expression changed into a frightening one. Along with the eerie sounds that Yad heard in the middle of the night. It is a repeated, “Tee Yod, Tee Yod”. When the family faces this mysterious supernatural threat former soldier and hot-blooded eldest son, Yak, must return home to solve all the problems…
