Frenzy Moon is a forthcoming horror film about six college students and a mysterious stranger who spend a terrifying night battling a pack of werewolves in an isolated cabin.
The movie is being written and directed by veteran indie genre filmmaker Gregory Lamberson (Guns of Eden; Widow’s Point; Johnny Gruesome; Killer Rack; Dry Bones; Slime City) ) who describes his screenplay as “John Carpenter’s The Thing meets The Howling”:
“It’s going to be intense and cinematic,” the writer-director says. “(Cinematographer) Chris Cosgrave and I plan to pull out all the stops. I’d hoped to direct this after Johnny Gruesome, but Widow’s Point came along, and then Covid shut everything down. Shooting a cabin-in-the-woods movie during the pandemic wasn’t feasible, so I made Guns of Eden instead. But I became a filmmaker to make monster movies.”
Lamberson plans to shoot his creature feature in Western New York this fall. Tamar Lamberson, Cosgrave, and Keith Lukowski co-produce, as they did on Guns of Eden.
David Tripet has signed on as executive producer. As a producer and production executive, Tripet oversaw such genre mainstays as The Arrival, Wishmaster, Leprechaun and Return of the Living Dead III.
John David Vincent will create the practical special effects, including an animatronic werewolf suit. Vincent worked for legendary stop motion animator David Allen for several years and built the eighteen-inch rod puppet glimpsed in the Frenzy Moon concept trailer.
