The Spanish Chainsaw Massacre is a 2013 comedy horror film about a heavy metal band stuck in a small town of flesh-eating maniacs. The original title was Carnivoros “Carnivores”.

The movie was directed by Manolito Motosierra and starring Nereida Lopez Vilaplana and Dani Mesado.

Plot:
Las Pollas del Metal (“The Metal Dicks”), a heavy metal band, are on tour to promote their first album. On the road to Galicia, their van suffers a flat tyre and they have to stay overnight at the “Gutierrez’s town”, a small village located nowhere.

The next day, the town is holding a festival where its inhabitants celebrate the patron saint’s day. The Mayor invites the band to join the celebration and they accept, without knowing life-threatening danger awaits them…

Reviews:
“With the short running time the film also does not overstay its welcome, even though there were a few scenes that did test just how much I wanted to see.  All in all though The Spanish Chainsaw Massacre was a fun film and full of gore, what more can we ask for?” Pissed Off Geek

” …there’s no denying that Spanish Chainsaw Massacre has a certain grotesque energy and it can’t be accused of skimping on the gore.” The Least Picture Show

“In case you haven’t guess yet, this film is shite. Not “ho ho, this is shite, I’m loving it” shite, but just shite. The acting is shite, the plot is shite, even the subtitles – from the usually on-the-ball 88 Films, are utter shite.” That Was a Bit Mental

“The story is as flimsy as toilet paper in a hurricane but let’s be honest the story is intentionally that thin, to allow it to at least have some reason to get to the next essential gore scene it set out for. Acting wise you probably haven’t seen acting this bad since Pervirella (1997), but at least it entertains on the blood spill level.” Horrorscreams Videovault

“It’s difficult to know how to describe it, but the movie has a John Waters – HG Lewis vibe with the kind of homemade feel of grotty British filth efforts like The Perv Parlour and Pervirella. What everyone lacks in skill here they more than make up for with enthusiasm, and if you like your horror over the top, silly and played for laughs you could do worse than watch this one.” House of Mortal Cinema

“It’s like the filmmakers are trying too hard to shock and while making this where probably sniggering that this scene will shock people, yet it comes across as just plain boring. Admittedly the emphasis on shocking gore fits in with the bad taste humour and sounds of farting that pepper the soundtrack, along with shite heavy metal.” UK Horror Scene

Release:
The film was released uncut on DVD in North America by Wild Eye Releasing on November 7, 2017.

The original British 88 Films DVD release was cut 32 seconds by the BBFC.
