Blood Star is a 2024 dark survival thriller in which a young pick-pocket is driving cross country back to her abusive boyfriend when she is targeted by a small-town Sheriff who shoots her off the road. She is drawn into a deadly game of cat and mouse with the psychopathic Sheriff. The chase escalates to deadly levels, and she must use her street smarts to turn the tables against him…
The movie was directed by Lawrence Jacomelli from a screenplay co-written with George Kelly and Victoria Hinks Taylor.
The Beast Branded Content-Fastback Films co-production stars Britni Camacho, John Schwab, Sydney Brumfield, Travis Lincoln Cox, Felix Merback and Wyomi Reed.

Jacomelli has an undeniable eye for compacting a pulpy morass into snappy imagery, such as a closeup of the sheriff’s loathsome kisser as he chomps chicken wings or the neat transition between scattered scrapyard cars and a box of hijacked mobile phones. Blood Star had its UK premiere at Grimmfest on 6th October (the cast and director attended) and will be available on Digital Download in the UK from 7th October 2024 via Plaion Pictures.
