Mariara is a 2024 supernatural horror about the mysterious deaths of mothers giving birth and the inexplicable disappearance of new-born babies.

The movie was written and directed by Veldy Reynold Umbas. It was executive produced by Rika Callebaut, Melan Rumintjap and Nova Sumolang.

The Gorango Pictures production stars Yashinta Tetelepta, Servie Kamagi, Eric Dajoh, Mercy Lateka and Leon Alexander.

Plot:
Villagers in Patemboan mourn the death of Sabina, the village head, who died tragically during a thanksgiving ceremony for his confirmation as the elected leader. The village court decrees that Marten Karengkom (Servie Kamargi) is responsible for the incident.

Meanwhile, the presence of David (Leon Alexander), a young priest, created new unrest in Patemboan Village. Pastor Edward (Eric Dajoh) criticises David’s presence and wants Marten to return to the village. David, who is considered too deep into the tense situation in the village, experiences many strange incidents and even becomes a victim of the practices of a witch doctor (Mariara). David had discovered that many mothers died during the birth of their babies. And the babies disappeared somewhere…
