The Cycle is a 2026 crime horror thriller in which a daughter unravels her father’s dark past after his body, missing for thirty-six years, is found at a horrific crime scene.

The movie was directed by Jordan Downey from a screenplay co-written with Kevin Stewart. It stars Deborah Ann Woll, Jeffrey Donovan and Gretchen Corbett.

Note:

The Cycle will be available on the Shudder platform sometime in October (no date is provided) but for some reason the trailer is not available in the UK via their YouTube channel hence the IGN link. Seems Shudder don’t care about British subscribers yet they are happy to take their £££s.

  1. This one is firmly on my watchlist — a daughter unraveling her father’s dark past after his body turns up at a horrific crime scene is exactly the kind of slow-burn mystery setup that thrives on Shudder. The premise reads like a mystery game in film form: every buried secret is another clue to piece together. I’m part of The Seventh Seed, an indie ARG / mystery project built around that same pull of an unfolding past. Here’s hoping the payoff lives up to Deborah Ann Woll’s involvement.
