‘Don’t look up.’

Skyline is a 2010 American science-fiction film about an extraterrestrial force that threatens to swallow the entire human population.

Directed by Colin Strause and Greg Strause (as The Brothers Strause) from a screenplay co-written by Joshua Cordes and Liam O’Donnell, the movie stars Eric Balfour, Donald Faison, Scottie Thompson and Crystal Reed.

“With its modest budget, the action is confined almost entirely to the apartment building and its immediate surroundings, which just adds to the sense of repetition and staleness. And while the visual effects sometimes really hit the spot, occasionally they’re as sketchy as hell […] Throw in dull characters, a risible epilogue, a good deal of smell the fart acting and a score straight from Star Trek: TNG and you’d probably be as well giving an alien invasion movie from your DVD collection a spin instead.” Alone in the Dark

“You’ve seen it all before, and done better, I might add.  The aliens themselves are competently done, but like the movie itself, they’re derivative and forgettable. The Strause Brothers are in the FX business, so we know they have a handle the alien stuff.  When it comes to the characters, they pretty much drop the ball.” The Video Vacuum

Skyline is a letdown, pure and simple. It’s interesting to watch, the effects are very impressive given the budget, but it’s another missed opportunity by the reoccurring trend of directors making movies on the cheap.” We Got This Covered

“It’s entertaining enough to make the film move at a painless, great pace. The Brothers Strause are able to indulge their audience with their goofy film by utilizing flashy visuals. Hopefully, with future work, the directors will be able to find a team of competent producers to keep the reigns on them, as well as allow the directing duo to express their visually gifted minds with ease.” Wylie Writes
