Reviews:

Kristy is not a perfect film, but it is wickedly entertaining, offering a bounty of well timed jump scares and genuine build of dread. The establishment of loneliness and isolation is captured perfectly by the above average cinematography. Even for minimal bloodshed, the violence packs a punch in its delivery, making for one hell of a thrill ride.” Beneath the Underground

” …a taut, effective little thriller that delivers on most of what it promises; of course you have to ignore the parts of the movie that are totally implausible and don’t work if you’re going to be able to enjoy this one, but this is the horror genre, that kind of thing is just par for the course.” The Horror Club

“It’s lean, it’s mean and it’s one hell of a fighting machine; Kristy is a taut, nerve-shredding thriller that is powered on a strong sense of dread and character. This is 2014’s biggest and baddest dark horse that the genre have had in years.” Horror Focus

“Perhaps it is in the vast nature of the college campus setting or maybe it has to do with the fact that most of us have experienced the feeling of isolation while away at school. But I didn’t feel like there was a single false misstep in any moment of Random: not the direction, script, or action.” Horror Honeys

“Anthony Jaswinski’s script is dismayingly familiar stuff, with borrowings from Them (Ils) and its American derivative The Strangers, with a final-girl fightback straight out of You’re Next – with none of the inherent irony that made that film such a giddy ride. It’s almost as though someone simply wanted to make a Them-type hoodie horror movie on a deserted campus, but needed a fresh framing device.” The Horror Show

“What could have been an amazing new slasher ultimately falls short of its potential. Even coming up short in the script department the film does emerge as a satisfying watch. Sadly however, there’s no one to blame for the film’s pitfalls outside of Jaswinski. It’s hard to understand why the man would piss on the audience constantly, but he does.” Horrorfreak News
