Lucky Day is a 2019 French-Canadian action comedy crime thriller feature film about a safecracker being pursued by a psychopathic contract killer.
Written and directed by Roger Avary (The Rules of Attraction; Mr Stitch; Killing Zoe), the movie stars Luke Bracey, Nina Dobrev (Flatliners; The Final Girls), Crispin Glover (We Have Always Lived in the Castle; Willard), Ella Ryan Quinn and Clé Bennett.
The soundtrack score was composed by tomandandy (47 Meters Down; Havenhurst; Sinister 2; et al).
It’s the big day, safecracker Red (Luke Bracey) gets out of prison, after serving two years for a bank robbery that ended in the death of his accomplice. He finds his wife Chloe (Nina Dobrev) who waited for him while raising their daughter Beatrice alone.
The same day, Luc (Crispin Glover), the brother of his former accomplice, hitman and notorious psychopath, arrives thirsting for revenge and with the firm intention to eliminate Red…
” …Avary delivers his select brand of snappy dialogue, cartoonish characters and cutthroat comic brutality with a sure hand […] Performances are lively all around, though Glover is so magnificently off his rocker— in one riotous scene, he uses a jacked-up muscle car to flatten a cop into a pancake — that he’ll probably be the only thing about Lucky Day that people even remember.” The Hollywood Reporter
